Jess & Chris

Jess & Chris’ wedding was one that really hit home all the things I love about this job. I was recently reflecting on why I photograph people and what it is that I do well (Blake encourages me to count my achievements and give myself credit, something I would otherwise forget to do), and I said “I don’t think I’m the most technical photographer, or the best at lighting or composition, but when I look at the weddings I’ve done, I see life, energy, and motion.” Without really knowing this at the time, Jess and Chris saw the same thing in my work, and hearing that from Jess later on was one of the most memorable moments of my career journey thus far.

So without getting TOO introspective, I would encourage every future couple to take a page from Jess & Chris’ book and live on your wedding day. To enjoy all the moments and absorb the love surrounding you. To freely laugh, cry, hug, dance, and kiss. Because months and years after your wedding, I want you to look at your photos and see YOU, and feel the life of the day in the same way you remember it.
